Summer Band and Orchestra

Summer Band, Orchestra and Jazz has been finalized for this coming summer. It is July 13-24 at St. Charles East high school. New this year is that registration and payment can be done all online at http://d303.revtrak.net/tek9.asp.

7th Grade Band Quarter Test

The 7th grade quarter playing test is coming due soon. The test consists of (1) Scales — C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, and Gb, plus chromatic, (2) Saying counting from Rhythm Sheet 2N, you may choose A or B, (3) Showing the counting written on your parts for Polly Oliver and Military Escort. Percussionists also will play from the packet, p. 60, the summary.

Solo and Ensemble

Solo and Ensmble for Band and Orchestra students is coming up on Friday, March 20. Information about times and room numbers will be coming out Wednesday, March 4. The festival is being held at St. Charles North high school.

8th grade band quarter test

The 8th grade quarter playing test is coming due soon. The test will include the chromatic scale, 11 major scales (Concert E, A, D, G,C,F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, and Gb) and # 50 from book III. Percussionists will also have #44 (timpani excerpt).

6th grade assignments coming due soon

The 6th grade band students have two items coming due soon. Notespeller Lessons 14-20 are due Wednesday, March 18. Quarter tests will also be done the week of March 16-20. The quarter tests for 6th graders includes three major scales (Bb, Eb and F concert), the chromatic scale and #50 from the book.

6th grade band open rehearsal !!!

We have a 6th grade band performance coming up and you are all invited to attend. We will have an open rehearsal/performance on Wednesday, March 11 during our 4A class hour (10:54-11:22) in the band room. The 6th grade bands will be combined and we will run a rehearsal including an informal performance of some of the music we have been working on. If you have the flexibility in your schedule to stop in we would love to have you.
